I'm so grateful to Hapeville Main Street and the City of Hapeville for commissioning me to create this Little Butterfly Library.
Painting and building it was a genuine learning experience — my first time creating a handmade piece meant to live outdoors, built to hold up to the weather. My husband helped me put it together, and there was something special about making this one as a team.
It's installed right next to the Art Container at Hapeville City Hall — the same container where I had my very first residency. Leaving a permanent piece of my art just steps from where that journey started felt serendipitous, like coming full circle.
Now I just hope everyone who walks by finds the perfect book waiting inside.
